You may have developed these ideas from your own experiences, what family and friends have said, browsing auto authority websites, or reading books and magazines. Much of what you believe about buying a new car is true. But we're to dispel the top five myths that get in the way of your getting the best deal.

1. Forget about financing at the dealership.

In an attempt to get your business, many banks and credit unions dangle car financing offers in front of you, claiming that you'll get the best deals with them. What they forget to mention is that they're in the business of making money off their loans.

Compare that with our primary business concern: selling you a car. We do everything we can to make sure that you drive home in the vehicle of your choice. Not only does this create a future customer for our services and products, but it also opens up space at our lot for another car. Moving our inventory drives our goal of 100 percent credit approval for all of our customers.

We have access to the same financing terms and interest rates that financial institutions offer. Plus, we offer incentives and can negotiate deals to make you happy. As another plus, you can figure out the car you can afford by filling out our convenient Credit Application. You'll then know the budget for your vehicle shopping.

2. You'll get a better deal on the Internet.

Car shopping sites like TrueCar make it seem like only they can get you the best price on a car. Even if they have the car you want in stock, the only part of the deal they have to honor is the price of the car. Other terms like interest rate, loan length, trade-in value, extended warranties, and other add-ons will inflate that price.

When you meet face-to-face with our dealers, the price is up for negotiation, but so is almost every other part of the deal. If the monthly payment is beyond your budget, we can adjust either the interest rate or loan schedule to make it more affordable. We can raise the value of your trade-in offer or reward you with manufacturer incentives or rebates.

3. Buy at the end of the month for the best deal.

Just like any dealership in the country, we set certain sales goals that our sales consultants have to meet. But these quotas may have nothing to do with the end of the month. And even if they are related, a sales agent who meets the quota before a particular schedule, which many good agents do, has no more incentive to offer you a deal at the end of the month. The bottom line: buy a car when you're ready.

4. Special ordering your car costs more.

The vehicles currently on our lot are configured to appeal to the widest range of buyers. They include the colors, features, and accessories that most people want but which may not be what you want. While we do our best to locate the vehicle that you need from all the resources available from us, what you end up with will probably have components that you will have to pay for whether you want them or not.

Special ordering your car may often cost you less because it will contain only what you need. Certain accessories or colors may only be available when you ask for them. As long as you don't mind waiting a few weeks for your vehicle, ordering a vehicle may be the most cost-effective way to get exactly what you want.

5. You have to get your car serviced at the dealership you bought it from.

This is absolutely false. Many of the vehicles that our professional automotive techs look after did not come from our dealership. And while we hope you'll bring any car you buy from use to our Service Department, we're more concerned about you getting the job done at your convenience.
